Brain zaps target alcohol cravings in new treatment trial

Summary
This study is testing whether a non-invasive brain stimulation treatment can help people with moderate to severe alcohol use disorder reduce their heavy drinking. 186 participants will receive either the real magnetic stimulation treatment or a sham (fake) treatment over 6 months, without knowing which one they get. Researchers will measure how many days participants have heavy drinking, aiming to see if the brain stimulation helps control alcohol cravings and use.
