First seen Mar 10, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 9 times

Summary

This small pilot study tested whether combining a non-invasive brain stimulation technique (rTMS) with computer-based cognitive training could improve thinking and memory problems in adults with schizophrenia or schizoaffective disorder. The study enrolled 12 participants with stable symptoms and compared active rTMS to a sham (inactive) version over two weeks. The main goal was to see if the approach was feasible and tolerable, and to measure any changes in cognitive test scores.
