Scientists search for the Brain's 'Pain Signature' in jaw disorder

NCT ID NCT05068908

Summary

This study aims to understand chronic jaw pain by looking at how different areas of the brain communicate. Researchers will use MRI brain scans on about 95 women with and without chronic jaw pain to see if specific brain connection patterns are linked to how disabling the pain is. The goal is to gather knowledge that could one day help identify which patients might struggle most with treatment, but this study itself does not test a new treatment.
