Brain scans reveal if ear zaps ease Veterans' chronic pain

NCT ID NCT04115033

Summary

This study tested a gentle, non-drug treatment for fibromyalgia pain in veterans. Fifty participants received either real or fake electrical stimulation on their ears to see if it reduced pain and improved function. Researchers used brain scans to try to understand how the treatment might work and to see if pain relief lasted up to 12 weeks after treatment ended.
