Scientists scan Kids' brains to unlock secrets of mind over pain

NCT ID NCT03518216

Summary

This study aimed to understand *how* a non-drug therapy helps children with chronic stomach pain and anxiety. Researchers used brain scans (fMRI) to see changes in brain activity and connections in 49 children aged 11-16. The children either received a 6-week therapy program combining mindfulness and cognitive behavioral techniques or were placed on a waitlist for comparison.
