Scientists scan young brains to uncover hidden side effects of cancer treatment

NCT ID NCT05288439

Summary

This study aims to understand how proton beam radiation therapy for brain tumors affects brain connections, thinking skills, and quality of life in children and young adults (ages 6-25). Researchers will use special brain scans and thinking tests to compare patients who received radiation with healthy participants. The goal is to identify early signs of brain changes that might help improve future cancer treatments for young people.
