Brain wave test could send concussion patients home faster
NCT ID NCT03989999
Summary
This study is testing whether a quick, non-invasive brain ultrasound can safely identify which concussion patients can go home immediately from the emergency room. Researchers are comparing this new approach to the standard practice of hospital observation for 550 patients with mild head injuries. The goal is to see if using the scan leads to similar recovery outcomes at 3 months while reducing unnecessary hospital stays.
