Doctors scan brains to see if new heart procedure is safer

NCT ID NCT07363278

Summary

This study aims to understand if a new type of heart procedure for atrial fibrillation (AFib) causes silent, symptomless brain injuries. Researchers will enroll 40 adults with AFib who are getting the new pulsed field ablation (PFA) procedure. They will use brain scans and memory tests after the procedure to check for any hidden brain changes and see if this new method is safer than older techniques.
