New brain radiation technique aims to shield memory from damage

NCT ID NCT07248228

Summary

This study is for people whose cancer has spread to the brain. It compares two ways of delivering whole brain radiation therapy, both designed to protect thinking and memory. One method avoids the hippocampus, a key memory area. The other avoids the hippocampus plus several other brain structures involved in memory and thinking. Researchers will see which approach better preserves cognitive function over time.
