Radiation shield for the brain: can it stop Cancer's spread?

NCT ID NCT00756639

Summary

This study is testing whether giving radiation to the whole brain can prevent brain tumors from developing in patients with an aggressive type of bladder cancer that has spread. The treatment is for patients whose cancer has responded well to chemotherapy but remains at high risk of spreading to the brain. Researchers want to see if this preventive radiation is safe and effective at keeping the cancer out of the brain for at least a year.
