Can a simple brain monitor save your mind after heart surgery?

NCT ID NCT04766554

Summary

This study tested whether using a special monitor to track oxygen levels in the brain during heart bypass surgery could help prevent memory and thinking problems after the operation. Researchers enrolled 326 patients aged 60 and older. They compared standard care to using the monitor along with a set of steps to improve brain oxygen if it got too low.
