New study aims to improve brain safety during Stroke-Prevention surgery
NCT ID NCT07150260
First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 08, 2026 · Updated 28 times
Summary
This study looks at 60 people having carotid artery surgery to prevent strokes. During surgery, the artery is clamped, which can reduce blood flow to the brain. Researchers want to see if a simple oxygen monitor on the forehead can predict low blood flow as well as the standard pressure measurement does. The goal is to make surgery safer by better understanding how to protect the brain.
