First seen Jan 25, 2026 · Last updated May 07, 2026 · Updated 16 times
Summary
This study looked at 102 adults having planned heart surgery to see if drops in brain oxygen levels during the operation are linked to memory or thinking problems afterward. Researchers measured brain oxygen with a special monitor and tested thinking skills before and after surgery. The goal was to understand which factors raise the risk of cognitive decline after cardiac surgery.
