Early trial aims to boost Radiation's power against brain tumors

NCT ID NCT02015117

Summary

This early-stage study is testing whether adding a drug called trametinib to standard whole-brain radiation therapy is safe and effective for treating cancer that has spread to the brain. The main goals are to find the safest dose of the drug and to see how much of it reaches the brain tumors. Researchers hope the drug will make the cancer cells more sensitive to the radiation, potentially leading to better control of the disease.
