New combo attack on lung cancer brain tumors

NCT ID NCT02696993

Summary

This study is testing whether combining immunotherapy drugs with targeted radiation to the brain works better to control advanced lung cancer that has spread there. It aims to find the safest and most effective doses of the drugs nivolumab and ipilimumab when given with two different types of brain radiation. The trial will also measure how long the treatment keeps the brain tumors from growing and monitor side effects, including potential impacts on memory and thinking.
