Scientists use special sugar to map brain tumor metabolism

NCT ID NCT06594315

Summary

This study is testing a new brain imaging method that uses a special form of sugar to see how glioma brain tumors use energy. Researchers will scan 80 participants—including healthy people and those with glioma—to develop better imaging techniques. The goal is to understand tumor metabolism to potentially improve future diagnosis and treatment monitoring, but this study itself does not provide treatment.
