Scientists test new brain monitor to unlock head injury secrets

NCT ID NCT05205174

Summary

This study is testing a new way to detect harmful brain wave patterns, called cortical spreading depolarizations, in patients with severe traumatic brain injury (TBI). Researchers will place a special recording wire during a standard medical procedure to monitor brain activity. The goal is to see if this method works and to gather information that could help improve future diagnosis and treatment for brain injury complications.
