Scientists map how brain damage changes the mind
NCT ID NCT01849549
Summary
This study aimed to understand how different types of brain damage affect a person's thinking, memory, and other mental skills. Researchers compared brain scans and detailed thinking tests from 346 people—some with brain injuries from strokes, tumors, or degenerative diseases, and some healthy volunteers. The goal was to link specific thinking problems seen on tests to the exact areas of damage seen on the brain scans.
