Doctors probe link between brain trauma and breathing machine stress
NCT ID NCT06192342
Summary
This study aims to understand if there is a connection between the severity of a recent brain injury and how a patient's lungs respond to a breathing machine (ventilator). Researchers will observe 19 adult patients who are on a ventilator due to a stroke, traumatic brain injury, or brain bleed. They will measure specific breathing machine pressures and see if they correlate with the patient's level of consciousness when they first arrived.
