Summary

This study tests a brain implant that helps people with locked-in syndrome communicate by using their thoughts to control a computer. Two participants will have electrodes placed on their brain to detect attempted hand movements and operate a speech-based system. Researchers will visit them at home for training sessions over one year, aiming for independent use.
