First seen Mar 23, 2026 · Last updated Apr 22, 2026 · Updated 5 times

Summary

This study is testing whether a special brain implant can track and help prevent epileptic seizures. The implant senses brain activity, uses computer algorithms to detect when a seizure might be coming, and delivers small electrical pulses to try to stop it. Researchers are testing this system in 5 people with severe, drug-resistant epilepsy to see if it's safe and can improve their quality of life.
