First seen Nov 20, 2025 · Last updated May 10, 2026 · Updated 25 times

Summary

This study looks at how virtual reality (VR) affects the brain when children feel pain. Twenty healthy kids aged 6-17 will wear a blood pressure cuff to create mild pain and a brain scanner to measure brain activity while using VR games, watching a VR video, or playing an iPad game. The goal is to find brain signals that show VR is working to reduce pain, which could help improve pain management in future medical procedures.
