First seen Jan 09, 2026 · Last updated Apr 30, 2026 · Updated 15 times

Summary

This study looks at how a low dose of nitrous oxide (laughing gas) affects the brain's response to pain and memory. Healthy volunteers will have brain scans while receiving mild pain stimulation, both with and without the gas. The goal is to understand which brain areas are involved, not to treat any condition.
