Scientists scan brains to unlock Alzheimer's secrets in diabetics

NCT ID NCT07482072

Summary

This study aims to better understand how Alzheimer's disease affects the brain's blood flow and sugar use, especially in people who also have type 2 diabetes. Researchers will use advanced brain scans (PET scans) to compare three groups: Alzheimer's patients without diabetes, Alzheimer's patients with diabetes, and healthy older adults. The goal is to identify early brain changes that could lead to better future diagnosis and treatments.
