NCT ID NCT07220148
First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 13, 2026 · Updated 24 times
Summary
This study looks at how the brain, stress hormone cortisol, and immune factor interleukin-6 change when young adults who drink heavily see pictures of alcohol. Researchers will use MRI scans and blood tests to measure these responses, then track real-world drinking via smartphone surveys. The goal is to better understand alcohol cravings and behavior, which could lead to new treatments for Alcohol Use Disorders. About 234 people aged 21-25 who binge drink or drink moderately will take part over two years.
