Can a simple dietary oil help shield the aging brain?
NCT ID NCT07392723
Summary
This study is testing whether a daily supplement made from flaxseed oil (a source of alpha-linolenic acid, or ALA) can help protect brain health and slow memory decline. It is for adults aged 60+ who have mild memory problems and carry a specific gene (APOE4) linked to higher Alzheimer's risk. Researchers will compare the supplement to a placebo (corn oil) over six months to see if it improves thinking skills and the health of blood vessels in the brain.
