Scientists scan teen brains to predict depression

NCT ID NCT01743716

Summary

This study aimed to understand what might predict depression in teenage girls by looking at their brain activity and genes. It involved 100 healthy girls aged 12-14, some with mothers who had depression and some without. The girls completed interviews, computer tasks, and had their brains scanned to see if certain patterns were linked to later depressive symptoms.
