First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 05, 2026 · Updated 26 times

Summary

This study looks at how a single dose of the antidepressant citalopram, given through an IV, affects brain activity when combined with a type of brain stimulation called theta burst stimulation (TBS). Thirty adults with major depression who haven't gotten better with other treatments will receive either the drug or a placebo, plus 10 TBS sessions. Researchers will use brain scans, EEG recordings, and mood surveys over 4 weeks to measure changes in depression symptoms.
