Scientists peer into the Brain's chemical symphony
NCT ID NCT05273970
Summary
This study aims to understand how brain chemicals like dopamine and serotonin change in real-time during human thought and emotion. Researchers will take measurements from 10 patients who are already having brain surgery for severe, medication-resistant epilepsy. The goal is to gather basic knowledge about how these chemicals work, which could one day inform future treatments for psychiatric and neurological conditions.
