Sound waves open Brain's defenses to let cancer drugs in

NCT ID NCT05317858

Summary

This study is testing whether using focused ultrasound to temporarily open the protective blood-brain barrier can help standard immunotherapy drugs better reach and treat lung cancer that has spread to the brain. It will compare this new approach to standard treatment alone in about 30 patients. The main goal is to see if opening this barrier leads to better tumor shrinkage over six months.
