Doctors shine light on brain cancer during surgery
NCT ID NCT03048240
Summary
This small pilot study tested whether adding a special light treatment during surgery is safe and practical for patients with glioblastoma, a serious brain cancer. Ten patients received the experimental light therapy right after their main tumor was removed, in addition to standard surgery and follow-up treatments. The main goal was to see if this combined approach could be done without causing severe, unexpected side effects.
