Scientists probe why Women's brains may suffer more from metabolic syndrome

NCT ID NCT07218653

Summary

This early-phase study aims to understand how metabolic syndrome (a cluster of conditions like high blood pressure and high blood sugar) reduces blood flow to the brain, and whether this effect is stronger in women than in men. Researchers will compare 72 healthy adults to adults with metabolic syndrome, using brain scans and cognitive tests. The goal is to gather knowledge about sex-specific risks for future brain health problems, not to provide treatment.
