NCT ID NCT04258774

First seen Jan 18, 2026 · Last updated May 13, 2026 · Updated 16 times

Summary

This study uses MRI scans to watch how the brain's blood vessels expand and contract when people breathe different gas mixtures. Researchers will compare healthy adults and patients with brain blood vessel diseases to understand differences in blood flow and oxygen use. Participants wear a special mask that controls oxygen and carbon dioxide levels while they are scanned. The goal is to learn more about how the brain manages its blood supply under stress.
