Danish brain surgeons test new drainage method to stop bleeds from coming back

NCT ID NCT06621407

Summary

This study aims to find the best way to drain fluid after surgery for a chronic subdural hematoma, a type of brain bleed common in older adults. Researchers in Denmark will compare two drainage techniques used for 24 hours after a standard surgery to see if one is better at preventing the bleed from returning and reducing the risk of death. Adult patients in Denmark scheduled for this specific surgery can participate to help determine the safer, more effective standard of care.
