Brain artery plaque evolution revealed by 3D imaging

NCT ID NCT03295773

First seen Feb 25, 2026 · Last updated May 04, 2026 · Updated 7 times

Summary

This study looks at how plaque buildup in brain arteries changes over one year in people who have had a stroke. Researchers will use special 3D X-ray images to measure plaque shape and size at the start and after 12 months. The goal is to better understand how these plaques evolve when risk factors like high blood pressure are well controlled. About 140 adults aged 30 to 85 with a recent stroke and significant artery narrowing will take part.
