Your eyes may reveal your Brain's future: new study investigates

NCT ID NCT06058897

First seen Jan 04, 2026 · Last updated Apr 24, 2026 · Updated 14 times

Summary

This study looks at healthy adults over 60 to see if special brain scans and eye-tracking tests can predict who will keep a sharp memory and who may experience decline. Researchers will measure a tiny brain area called the locus coeruleus, which is one of the first places affected by Alzheimer's-related changes. Participants will have MRI scans and do computer tasks while their pupils are tracked, then return 18 months later for follow-up. No drugs or treatments are given—the goal is simply to learn more about early warning signs.
