Scientists scan brains for clues to memory loss

NCT ID NCT07099053

Summary

This study aims to understand how a protein called amyloid builds up in the brain as people age and whether this buildup is linked to memory loss or other thinking problems. Researchers will follow 400 adults aged 55 and older who are already part of a long-term aging study, performing brain scans and memory tests every 1 to 4 years for 5 years. The goal is to gather knowledge that could help identify people at risk for cognitive decline in the future.
