Scientists probe the brain during surgery to unlock Parkinson's hidden symptoms

NCT ID NCT04735458

Summary

This study aims to understand how brain activity is linked to non-motor symptoms in Parkinson's disease, like depression and thinking problems. Researchers will record brain activity from 140 participants during their routine deep brain stimulation surgery while they perform simple computer tasks. The goal is to gather knowledge that could one day lead to better treatments for these challenging symptoms.
