Scientists map brain activity to decode movement disorder symptoms

NCT ID NCT06848530

Summary

This study aims to understand how brain activity relates to symptoms in movement disorders like Parkinson's disease, essential tremor, dystonia, and ataxia. Researchers will record brain signals from 100 adult patients, either from the scalp or through a deep brain stimulator if the participant has one. The goal is to identify specific brain signal patterns linked to movement symptoms, which could inform future research but does not provide direct treatment.
