First human trial: radiation pellets supercharge cancer immunotherapy

NCT ID NCT04620603

Summary

This early study is testing whether adding tiny radioactive pellets directly into tumors can boost the effectiveness of standard immunotherapy drugs. The trial involves just 5 patients with advanced melanoma, kidney cancer, or bladder cancer that has spread. Researchers want to see if this combination is safe and whether it helps shrink tumors better than immunotherapy alone.
