Why prostate drug fails: new study seeks answers for millions of men

NCT ID NCT04288427

Summary

This study aims to understand why some men with enlarged prostate (BPH) don't respond to the common medication Finasteride. Researchers will follow 120 men eligible for this treatment, using MRI scans and genetic analysis to look for markers that predict treatment resistance. The goal is to help doctors identify upfront which patients need different treatment approaches, avoiding ineffective therapy.
