Ultrasound helps time colonoscopy for cleaner results
NCT ID NCT06111937
First seen Jan 06, 2026 · Last updated Jun 15, 2026 · Updated 27 times
Summary
This study looked at 148 adults having a painless colonoscopy. Researchers used ultrasound to check when the stomach was empty after drinking a bowel-cleansing solution. They compared doing the colonoscopy within 2 hours versus waiting 2-4 hours after the stomach emptied, to see which timing gave a cleaner bowel for the exam.
