Botox shots tested as potential Long-Term solution for amputation pain
NCT ID NCT07431944
Summary
This study is testing whether botulinum toxin (Botox) injections work better than standard numbing injections for reducing nerve pain that develops after limb injury or amputation. Researchers will compare pain relief over 24 weeks in 100 adults who have had this type of pain for at least 3 months. The main goal is to see if the botulinum toxin provides longer-lasting pain reduction than the temporary relief typically offered by numbing injections.
