Summary
Many stroke survivors are left with a stiff, hard-to-move arm due to spastic cocontractions—muscles that contract at the wrong time. This small study tests whether injecting botulinum toxin A into the elbow flexor muscles can reduce those cocontractions and improve active arm movement. Fourteen participants will be evaluated before and after their usual injection to see if the treatment helps restore a functional grip.
