BOTOX may slim the jaw without surgery

NCT ID NCT06137287

First seen Jul 06, 2026 · Last updated Jul 07, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study tests whether BOTOX injections can reduce the prominence of the masseter muscle, the chewing muscle that can make the lower face look wide or square. About 250 Japanese adults with marked or very marked masseter muscle prominence will receive either BOTOX or a placebo injected into both jaw muscles. The trial measures changes in jaw appearance and checks for side effects over about one year.
