Botox shots tested for chronic jaw pain relief

NCT ID NCT06840730

Summary

This study tested whether Botox injections could help people with chronic jaw muscle pain and stiffness who hadn't improved with standard treatments. Researchers gave Botox shots to 25 patients and measured their pain levels, jaw movement, and certain inflammation markers in their blood and saliva before and after treatment. The goal was to see if Botox reduced pain and improved function while also checking if it lowered specific chemicals linked to pain and inflammation.
