NCT ID NCT07646886
First seen Jun 24, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 2 times
Summary
This study compares two injection sites for Botox to treat drooping mouth corners, a common sign of aging. 266 adults aged 18-60 will receive a single injection either in the upper or lower part of a specific mouth muscle. The goal is to see which spot works better and safer, and to create standard guidelines for doctors.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
Botulinum toxin type A (Botox)
What this could lead to
If successful, this trial could establish the best injection site for treating drooping mouth corners with Botox, providing clear guidelines for doctors.
What could go wrong
This is a phase 4 trial, so the treatment is already approved for other uses. However, results may vary by individual, and there is a risk of temporary weakness in nearby muscles or asymmetry.
