Brain training plus ADHD pill tested to sharpen aging minds
NCT ID NCT03280251
Summary
This study tested whether a low dose of a medication used for ADHD (methylphenidate), when combined with 6 weeks of computerized brain training, could improve thinking skills and simulated driving performance in healthy older adults. The goal was to see if this combined approach could create a lasting benefit for mild thinking problems, with effects measured up to 3 months later. The study involved 31 right-handed, licensed drivers over age 65 with no major health issues.
