Can a book calm surgery fears? new trial tests story power

NCT ID NCT07430488

Summary

This study is testing whether reading a personal narrative book helps women of childbearing age better manage their emotions, anxiety, and fears before having a hysterectomy. Researchers will compare the usual pre-surgery information and support to the same care plus the storybook. They want to see if the book improves emotional coping, reduces distress, and increases satisfaction with care.
