Can a dye test spot bone infections before they worsen?

NCT ID NCT04403204

First seen Feb 05, 2026 · Last updated May 07, 2026 · Updated 10 times

Summary

This study looked at 104 people with broken bones to see if a special dye and camera could measure blood flow in the bone and surrounding tissue. The goal was to find out if poor blood flow is linked to infections or bones that don't heal properly. Researchers hope this technique might one day help doctors decide how much infected bone to remove during surgery.
